AR Griot

“Griot” is a word of european origin used to describe the traditional historians, storytellers, musicians, maskers, and dancers of West Africa. Known as djeli in Mande, these people record and recite the histories of families and nations.

“A people without knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots” -Marcus Mosiah Garvey

Our genealogy service can help you discover more about your family’s history; preparing reports and presentations for family reunions, writing biographies and obituaries for Elders and Ancestors, and helping you tell your story to future generations.

We are also available for storytelling and story-finding presentations and workshops for your community group or event.

“Dance like no one is watching” is a great saying, but how great would it be to be supported in exploring how your body moves? We combine a number of different styles of dance and movement to help you build strength, endurance and self-confidence. Get sweaty with a supportive group, or book a private session to work on specific areas.
